EVERYONE’S INVITED
Start your journey to a more inclusive salon today with VTCT and their Continued Professional Development (CPD)
A lack of knowledge surrounding Afro-textured hair in the industry has led to clients feeling isolated, often having to travel further afield to find a professional who specialises in this area. Many have had negative experiences with professionals who have not understood their hair type and have had to resort to caring for their own hair, usually without positive results.
VTCT are committed to ensuring the qualifications offered are relevant and supportive wherever you are on your education journey. As marketleading specialists for hair, beauty, aesthetics and complementary therapies, VTCT support over 2,500 centres worldwide with over 120,000 learners and apprentices every year.
It’s why VTCT want to empower those in the hair industry to cater to a broader range of clients, and in turn expand their client base and increase their profits. It's important for hair professionals to have relevant skills and experience, so VTCT have launched a collection of Continued Professional Development (CPD) videos, educating professionals on how to identify, treat and style Afrotextured hair.
VTCT believes that Continued Professional Development highlights that learning should never stop regardless of how many years in the industry you have under your belt. CPD aims to support the professionals who engage with it, to expand, develop, grow, and broaden their horizons.
These short videos will empower professionals to take on clients with Afro-textured hair with confidence. The CPD resources will teach how to; identify different Afro-textured hair types and recognise a variety of curl patterns, understand what products to use and when, master key styling techniques (including the ‘double twist’ method), and how to style Afro-textured hair effectively. These videos can be accessed at the stylist’s convenience, at any time, making them easy to watch at any point throughout a hairdresser's busy schedule.
