Why is it important to start thinking about the new year now?

  A new year is the perfect time to get a bit more creative with your clients. Start talking to them and planting the seed in their Christmas appointments as that will encourage them to come back in January so you can execute their new look.

Would you suggest running new year offers to entice customers? 

Offering discounts can cheapen your brand and I think clients start to expect that yearly discount. We’re a lot more time-rich in January so giving clients extra treatments such as a SACHAJUAN Scalp Treatment is a positive and unexpected surprise. What would you suggest doing with excess festive stock that hasn’t sold?

How can you continue to motivate your staff during this quieter period? 

Use the time to invest in your staff and make them feel valued. Trial a different product line and get your staff involved in giving their feedback. This will not only refresh your salon offering, but it will give your staff something new to focus on. Ask each of your staff members what they want their development to look like. Plan a journey with them and let them know that you want to accommodate their dreams whether they want to do competitions and shows, or they want to be successful in the salon.
