SIMPLIFY YOUR NEW YEAR WITH SACHAJUAN

SACHAJUAN’s brand ambassador Pete Burkill shares his top tips for the new year, including how you can refresh your salon offering with the Swedish simplicity of SACHAJUAN

Why is it important to start thinking about the new year now?

A new year is the perfect time to get a bit more creative with your clients. Start talking to them and planting the seed in their Christmas appointments as that will encourage them to come back in January so you can execute their new look.

Would you suggest running new year offers to entice customers?

Offering discounts can cheapen your brand and I think clients start to expect that yearly discount. We’re a lot more time-rich in January so giving clients extra treatments such as a SACHAJUAN Scalp Treatment is a positive and unexpected surprise. Take the time to do a long head massage using a product like SACHAJUAN’s Hair Repair and if you have some extra stock that’s been sat for a while, offer clients a free miniature shampoo to take home. These little tokens will help you build a relationship with your clients, make them feel special and keep them coming back to you.

What would you suggest doing with excess festive stock that hasn’t sold?

The SACHAJUAN gifting range can be broken down, which means you can sell the products individually if you don’t sell them all at Christmas. If you have lots of stock left over, you can always offer clients a free SACHAJUAN Shampoo or Conditioner if they book to come back in January, instead of offering a new year discount. This also gives your clients the chance to test one of your retail products they might not have tried before. When they love it they’ll purchase more next time which will ultimately boost your retail sales.

How can you continue to motivate your staff during this quieter period?

Use the time to invest in your staff and make them feel valued. Trial a different product line and get your staff involved in giving their feedback. This will not only refresh your salon offering, but it will give your staff something new to focus on. Ask each of your staff members what they want their development to look like. Plan a journey with them and let them know that you want to accommodate their dreams whether they want to do competitions and shows, or they want to be successful in the salon.

Why is a new year a good time to try a new brand like SACHAJUAN?

After a busy December everything can feel a little bit tired so it’s a great time to refresh your salon offering while you have the time to really trial and  test a new brand. If you are thinking about partnering with SACHAJUAN, give Sweet Squared a call and they will organise a partnership manager to come to your salon so that you can see, use and try out the SACHAJUAN products for yourself.

What support will you receive from a brand like SACHAJUAN?

SACHAJUAN is an international brand so we have platforms all over the world that offer online education, including our UK channels – @sweetsquared.hair and @sachajuanuk. The UK SACHAJUAN distributor, Sweet Squared, has award-winning customer service and education teams that are always on hand for anything you need. There’s also myself as the brand ambassador and my inbox is always open to share ideas or discuss techniques.

To find out more about becoming a SACHAJUAN salon, contact Sweet Squared on 0333 000 7000 or email info@sweetsquared.com
