TEAM HJ HIT THE SHOW FLOOR TO DISCOVER THE BRANDS, PRODUCTS AND NEW LAUNCHES THAT DELIGHTED VISITORS THIS YEAR

AMERICAN CREW

American Crew were joined by hair, beauty and fashion photographer Liam Oakes, who was shooting models fresh off the Modern Barber stage.

MURDOCK LONDON

Making their debut, Murdock London's grooming products include Black Tea Cologne, new Black Tea Strengthening Shampoo and styling tins as well as their brand new cologne, Napier.

GAMMA+ UK

Gamma+ UK’s new Cyborg Trimmer was on offer at this year’s show, and paired perfectly with their Cyborg Clipper, the only clipper that has a movable lever for left-handed barbers.

VAGARO

Vagaro were encouraging visitors to sign up for free trials, where they could receive a free card reader worth £100. Meanwhile, they were also providing valuable advice on growing business.

UBERLISS

Uberliss were running a special competition at this year’s Salon International where guests were invited to post a selfie to be in with a chance of winning over £500 worth of products.

OLAPLEX

For their first visit to Salon International, Olaplex were offering exclusive prices to visitors and even had an interactive spin the wheel for a prize game.

REVLON PROFESSIONAL

Guests were invited to dive into Revlon Professional’s ball pit for a chance to win a Revlon hamper. Alongside this, the focus was on the new Color Excel Gloss treatment.

TREATWELL

Our headline sponsor Treatwell offers an all-inone solution for salons to grow their business online.Visitors could sign up to their Connect software and Pro software at a reduced price.

YUV BEAUTY

For the second time ever YUV Beauty demos were available to the public, and visitors had the chance to understand the colour mixing smart software.

DART PROFESSIONAL

The TSuper Trimmer was available on the Dart Professional stand with a Salon International 10% off exclusive offer.

BARBER.JOSH O.P

Online and in-person education was at the centre of the Barber.josh.o.p stand who were giving 50% off online education courses and 10% off in-person courses across the weekend.

NOVO CABELO

Novo Cabelo were demonstrating hair system applications live.Their new training package includes two free hair systems, a starter kit, and expected earnings c£1750 per client per year.

PURCY CHAIRS

Visitors were able to see the new maintenance kit from Purcy Chairs – their exclusive offer included £100 off chair price, two free upholstery cleaners and 25% off a tray and floor mat. Andrea Amighetti, SPUK The Barber and Simon Butcher were also on the stand.

TIMELY

Timely were offering free professional headshots, showcasing their newly launched card payment terminals, and offering a special offer of 50% off for four months for those who activated at Salon International.

SASSOON ACADEMY

Along with a live display of hair cutting and colouring, Sassoon Academy launched their ABC+ Men hair cutting series, their new collection ‘Citizen’, and their book showing all three collections from Sassoon this year.

SACO HAIRCARE AND ACADEMY

Visitors were treated to a special offer of a free product if they bought two haircare products from Saco Haircare and Academy. The international salon and academy group were all about introducing visitors to their education offering.

ARTERO

Electrical brand Artero were showcasing live cuts on their stand and visitors had the chance to enter a free daily prize draw to win electrical goodies.

ZEN HAIR

Zen Hair showcased a live display of hair fittings, and were launching their Luxury Series+ in I Tips and U Tips exclusively at Salon International.

CHRIS AND SONS - LEVEL 3

Visitors were treated to a special offer of 30% discount, and live demonstrations from Mr Official, Bonez Da Goat, Allison Cuts, Modern Barber stage host Danny Robinson and Josh Lamonaca, MB's All Round Barber winner.

PROCARE

Hairdressing foils brand Procare displayed live hair creations and were celebrating the launch of their new branding.They also donated £10,000 to breast cancer charities on Sunday 15 October.

REM

UK furniture brand REM showcased their new products and new colours on their stand. Plus, they held an Instagram competition for the chance for visitors to win £250.

BANBURY POSTICHE

Banbury Postiche were focusing on their recent global CombLine launch.The CombLine Hair Enhancement System includes a full kit, a full day’s training at the Banbury Academy, plus ongoing support.

BOOK SALON

The software solution that combines payment and booking all in one returned to Salon International for their second consecutive year. The brand ran a competition to win a Dyson AirWrap.

MORGAN’S POMADE

Morgan’s Pomade were celebrating an incredible 150 year anniversary.Their stand featured a stunning display of their products they describe as “luxury products at affordable prices”.

I. ART

I. ART were showcasing the launch of their new LUNATICS fast toners for 2024 that work to create a unique-toned blonde, correct the outcome of a bleaching process, and push boundaries to create the most astonishing lunar tones.

KAMISORI

New products were showcased on the Kamisori stand to celebrate their 20th anniversary, and visitors were treated to a free thinner with every purchase made.

CAPE KINGS

It was all about laser engraving on the Cape Kings stand to personalise clippers, along with a sale on their salon and barber wear, capes, uniform, and merchandise.

OPATRA

Opatra were showcasing a range of their products such as Synergy Eye, a unique hand-held device that combines red LED light therapy alongside a massage option to reduce fine lines and create smoothness around the eyes.

AMIKA

With Amika’s Perk Up a clear customer favourite, the brand took to Salon International ready to showcase Perk Up Plus, an amped-up edition which helps to extend your clients’ shampoo even further.

SUPERNOVA

The world’s only three-in-one hair tool, Supernova straightens, waves and curls without requiring any additional attachments. Thanks to trionic technology, it acts like Botox for the hair, keeping locks smooth, shiny and hydrated.

SENSEI SHEARS

Sensei Shears have been manufacturing scissors since 1980 and came to this year's Salon International with a broad range of products to suit every need and budget.

DOWA INTERNATIONAL

At the Dowa International stand, customers were treated to a free case with every new pair of scissors purchased, while experts were also on hand to sharpen scissors brought by visitors.

AMORY LONDON

Amory London were offering its award-winning Infrared Hair Straightener, which features tourmaline plates and light therapy, for £220 – usually £400.

OLIVIA GARDEN

Olivia Garden took the opportunity to showcase its annual collaboration with ThinkPink, which for 2023 was the best-selling Fingerbrush, in exclusive pink and purple shades. For every brush sold, they will be donating €1 to the charity.

HAIR TOOLS

Hair Tools were showcasing its newest launch, the Hair Tools Electric Head Jog Futaria Hair Dryer, a 4-in-1 styler that curls, waves, straightens and sets.They were offering a special discount of ‘Buy 2 for £100 each’ usually £119.

DENMAN INTERNATIONAL

Denman’s focus for the weekend was its Deluxe Print range, which includes the new ranges, Gothic and Lunar Lavender. Plus, they were giving away free Denman keyrings for guests that took a photo with mascot Didi.

SALON SUPPLIES

Distributor Salon Supplies were showcasing their new furniture launches, the Nubi Styling Chair and Nubi Wash. Both were available with 10% off – a show-exclusive discount.

GREAT LENGTHS

Greath Lengths had a range of limited-time offers available, however their focus for the weekend was to highlight the different opportunities hair extensions can present, and how they can provide your business with additional revenue.

COMFORTEL

Furniture brand Comfortel were showcasing the Harriet Connect and Padding Connect, both part of its new range of fully electric, massaging basin chairs that are super comfortable for clients and easy to use for hairdressers.

MANIC PANIC

Manic Panic were busy celebrating two new launches – the Mermaid Mask Ultimate Repair and the Hair Colour Conditioner. With the latter not officially launching until December, this was a real show-exclusive.

TOMB45

Tomb45 was giving away its new Wireless Charging Pods Base (worth £143.99) for free with any purchase of six clippers.They were also offering 30% off across all products.

JRL

JRL were also offering 30% off across its entire range, while taking pre-orders for the upcoming launch, JRL FreshFade 202C in Onyx. While the original tools in silver and gold offer a four hour run-time, the latest launch extends to five.

CLIPHAIR

Extensions brand Cliphair introduced its brand-new Deep Moisture haircare range to Salon International, which features a shampoo, mask and conditioner.

ALAN HOWARD

Like Salon International, Alan Howard were celebrating their 50th anniversary this year – and they celebrated in style. With a sponsored champagne bar and Shed ‘shed’, offering a free Shed styling product, and a selection of their new Scorpion furniture range.

COLOURSTART

ColourStart’s stand was all about promoting their one-off allergy test that clients complete at home, upload to their ColourStart passport and bring to their hairdresser.The brand state that the test covers all brands and colours, so professionals can colour with confidence.

K18 AND BLONDE SOLUTIONS

Back for their second year, K18 were showcasing their Prep + Repair Service Essentials kit, including a full-sized Chelator, Professional Mist and Professional Mask. Plus, Blonde Solutions were brand new to the UK this year.

NATURE EVA

Visitors on the Nature Eva stand saw their Bio-Straight Straightening Treatment in action, which hydrates and rebuilds hair as it straightens. As a bonus, they offered free online training to anyone that bought one of their products.

WAHL UK X BARBER BLADES

Wahl UK and Barber Blades had their new Hi-Viz Cordless Trimmer centre stage, offering exclusive early access to visitors at a reduced price. Don’t fret, other hair professionals can get their hands on the trimmer in January 2024.

ALFA ITALIA

Alfa Italia were showcasing their heated styling tools, specifically the relaunch of the Tropea Interchangeable Pro Styling Wand.Visitors saw Vinny Brennan harnessing the power of this wand on HJ’s Artist Spotlight stage – new to Salon International this year.

BEU

Salon software system Beu were offering a discount of over £200 for salons who signed up for a year and £199 for sole traders and self-employed stylists.

DIRECTIONS HAIR COLOUR

Eager to enter the college education scene, Directions Hair Colour had a range of student deals on offer to our Colleges on Monday, as well as free goodie bags for all lecturers. Plus, visitors had the chance to watch their live stage and photo shoot.

GLOWWA

Glowwa’s stand featured a mesmerising wall of their Hair Food vitamins that attracted visitors from every corner.They offer free hair nutrition education to any hairdresser that wants to help their clients with healthy hair growth – and other benefits like glowing skin.

SCRUMMI TOWELS

Scrummi put their biodegradable, singleuse cotton towels into action in their live demonstrations, promoting their Trial Packs at an exclusive price. With an accessible price point, these towels are aimed at mobile hairdressers and ideal for home salons.

ZENOTI

Salon software Zenoti are devoted to optimising the salon experience for management, employees and guests. At Salon International, visitors had the chance to grow their revenue with free set up and a discount on the software.

ANDIS UK

Andis UK put their beSPOKE Trimmer and reSURGE Shaver under the spotlight with exclusive prices.They spent the weekend educating guests with Andis International Artistic Team lead Kevin Luchmun and International Platform Artist Hayden Cassidy.

PHOREST

Salon software company Phorest are focused on helping salons bring in new clients, keep existing ones and raise utilisation rates. At Salon International, they presented an exclusive discount for new clients.

MOOD

The brand certainly packed a punch with the colours on their stand. Directly opposite their colour pod, part of HJ's Colour Stage, they showcased vivids, blondes and brought Barbie inspired looks to the stage, where we saw a range of looks with an avant garde twist.

SHORTCUTS

Celebrations were in order for some, as Shortcuts celebrated their 30-year anniversary. With a selection of cupcakes and a coffee machine available to win, this wasn’t a stand to miss.

JAGUAR SCISSORS + RAND ROCKET

The brands included Jaguar New Passionate and New Titanium Hero scissors, plus the J-ntleman scissor specially for men’s hair. Rand Rocket also celebrated their 50th anniversary!

BABYLISS PRO

The focus on the BaByliss PRO stand was the all-new Falco Hair Dryer and the Snap FX with the rapid changeable batteries. Launched at #salon23, people could try both on the stand and see live demos with leading stylists such as Jody Taylor and Michelle Sultan.

TAKARA BELMONT

#salon23 saw two new backwash launches from the furniture brand -the Yume Noble and Yume IXI. In their technology zone, visitors could feel the weight of an average human head and learn why it is so important to support the head and neck in a backwash.

JACK WINN PRO

Brand new to the UK, Jack Winn Pro are all about improving the lives of stylists with better community and better products.Their stand was all about showing the UK they are here for the independent stylist.

MATAKKI SCISSORS

Elite Collection scissors such as the Assassin and the Vintage had big discounts, while barbers Alex Burt and Sam Campagna worked behind the stand, giving precise, barber-tobarber recommendations.

VTCT

On their live stage,VTCT featured hair and barbering demos that all show hairdressing as a fantastic career. Keri Blue, WELOVE, Learning Curve Group, London School of Barbering, Francesco Group, Westrow Academy and Hairforce1 were just some of the acts.

CALLIGRAPHY CUT

With a patented blade, the Calligraphy Cut pen is designed for cutting head hair, not facial hair. A super thin blade, and a three degree angle, make it a healthy way to cut hair. Held like a pen, the event saw Ky Wilson and Nicola Smyth demo on the stand.

FOUR REASONS UK

With exclusive bundles over the three days, Four Reasons engaged the freelance market with support, affiliate schemes, tips on correct posture for stylists and a colour calculator to work out exactly what price to charge.

DYSON PROFESSIONAL

A live stage that featured Jonathan Andrew, Chris Long and the Australian FAME team, brought the Dyson product to life.The focus was all about how Dyson is perfect for session styling and is an essential for every kitbag.

EQUIP THE CREATIVE

The main attraction of the Equip the Creative stand was Apé the Label, which creates gowns in bespoke colours, with interchangeable straps and breathable materials such as vegan leather and TPU.

SCHWARZKOPF PROFESSIONAL

All about hero-ing their mission to be your “Partners in Craft”, Schwarzkopf Professional’s stage over the three days was full of talent including Rainbow Room International, Hooker & Young, and Debbie G.

INDOLA

On the eye-catching stand adorned with colour swirls, Indola Global Ambassador Andy Smith and a team of ambassadors wowed crowds with non-stop demonstrations across the three days. Visitors could also walk in a hall of mirrors and see a live photo shoot.

JEAN PAUL MYNE

This is the first year that the Italian-made brand has exhibited with their UK distributor. WIth all-natural ingredients, ammonia-free colour and a focus on the health of the hair, the stand showcased the wide range within the Jean Paul Myne brand.

RUSH HAIR AND BEAUTY 

Spreading the message about the Rush Hair and Beauty Academy and speaking to potential Rush franchisees, as well as retailing favourites from the salons, was the name of the game on the Rush stand.
