#Salon23 THE ANNUAL

IT’S BEEN 50 YEARS OF FUN, FASHION AND FROLICS, HERE’S WHAT HAPPENED AT THIS YEAR’S 50TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW...

Countless brands, new launches, four stages, ten Masterclasses and three days of Business Live seminars, in some ways Salon International hasn’t changed since it began in 1973 –

 – but in other ways everything has changed, as you can tell from the throwback image above and 2023's image Below!

THE HJ STAGE KICKS OFF OUR ROUND UP OF THE FOUR STAGES. WE LOVED THE MIX OF CLIENT-FRIENDLY AND OUT-THERE LOOKS

SHAPE SHIFT

Stepping it up a notch with graphic shapes, blunt fringes and block colour panels, hob, Danilo Giangreco and the Blue Tit teams threw some cool shapes.

KEEP IT REAL

It was all about salon friendly, flattering and wearable looks for Kirby Blythe and Samantha Cusick – these were genuine client looks that the audience could take right back to the chair.

BIG ATTITUDE

Let's hear it for the artists who went big and bold with punk looks, Avant Garde drama and, of course, drag queens.

GLAMOUR

It wouldn't be the HJ Stage without a hefty dose of glamour. Think beautiful and confident – the looks from Mark Leeson, WHC China, Conor Doyle & Melvin Royce Lane and Ken Picton all made a statement.

THE COLOUR STAGE RETURNED TO SALON INTERNATIONAL WITH A STUNNING KALEIDOSCOPE OF CREATIONS FROM THE INDUSTRY'S BEST COLOUR TECHNICIANS

ELGON

Davide Spinelli was at the Elgon pod demonstrating a stunning cut and colour, using tape to carefully place the colour on the hair.

UBERLISS

Uberliss Ambassador, Claire Chell showcased an incredible colour correction, taking her model from magenta to an icy blonde.

ELEVEN AUSTRALIA

Over at the ELEVEN Australia pod, the team brought Autumn trends to the audience. Their theme was Earthy Elegance, adding texture, soft brightness and woody brown to the hair.

MOOD

Stylists at the Mood pod created a range of fun and creative looks. We saw creations heavily inspired by Barbie with an Avant- Garde twist with lots of fuchsia and yellow. The finished looks even contained Barbie heads and Barbie legs!

NXT

Stylist Holly Bullock treated audiences to a stunning blonde, salon-friendly look over at the NXT pod.

REVLON PROFESSIONAL

Joseph I'Anson and Olivia Binch were over at the Revlon Professional pod on Sunday, and showcased two beautiful looks. Joseph said about his creation: "I wanted to create a super sexy, seamlessly beautiful and effortless look."

YELLOW PROFESSIONAL

It was all about copper on the Yellow Professional pod, with stylists talking about autumn trends and how to take inspiration from colours and themes. The Copper Queen of course, showcased a stunning copper look!

QUIF

Over on the Quif pod, Adam worked his magic on natural curls complementing the natural base and colouring the mids and ends a warm autumn shade.

COLOUR KALEIDOSCOPE

Heffy Wheeler and Jaymz Marsters brought a whole colour kaleidoscope to the HJ pod, Jack Howard focused on 'brunettes who want to stay brunette', and grey coverage, whilst Vicki Lord wowed the audience with some big hair!
