This industry certainly has talent, and this is an issue that celebrates that. From the British Hairdressing Business Award Winners on page 43, to the finalists of the British Hairdressing Awards, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional displayed from page 66 onwards – take note of the names featured, they are the greats of our industry! It’s fantastic to see new names amongst the finalists and winners of both awards too.
Speaking of the industry’s finest, you have in your hands one of eight exclusive BaByliss PRO covers specially created for Hairdressers Journal International. We were lucky enough to be present at the shoot and what a hive of creativity it was. We LOVED seeing eight artists in their element creating gorgeous hair and the whole team, from the stylists to the photographer, made the shoot a huge success.
October saw our first Salon International post-pandemic and what a three days! Check out the trends we spied on the HJ, Modern Barber and the Colour Stages, the tips we learned from the Business Live seminars, the techniques showcased at the seminars and the hottest products that launched. Our Salon International coverage runs from page 27 to 41 and don’t forget to check out all our social coverage by searching #salon21.
Also in this issue, don’t miss our guide to the chicest party hair looks for your clients (check out the accessories on page 64) and get a peek inside Electric Space on page 116, we’re dubbing it the Soho House for hair and you’ll be able to find out why it’s set to change the industry for the better. Someone who’s also trying to evolve salon management in a positive way is Polly Rose who explains her concept of conscious leadership on page 22. And being a kind and compassionate is something we can all do well to remember (well, I definitely can!) as we head into what’s set to be your busiest time of the year. Wishing you lots of luck for the crazy months ahead. Hope to see you at the British Hairdressing Awards on Monday 29 November.
