Hair artists came together for an evening of creativity, high fashion, and hair mastery


Sunday 26 June 2022 saw the L’Oréal Colour Trophy 66th Grand Final take place at Battersea Evolution, London, for an evening of excitement and inspiration. For the first time in two years, guests had the opportunity to join in-person, while also being streamed, allowing the evening’s shows and awards to be accessed by a virtual crowd all over the world. Guests were treated to a display of incredible artistry, elevated even further with jawdropping stage effects, explosive music and presenter Vick Hope, who kept momentum going and guests engaged throughout the evening.

Bloggs Salons, Bristol, took the number one spot, seizing the prestigious L’Oréal Colour Trophy Award - the industry’s longest running hair awards. Andrew Mulvenna, Belfast were awarded second place and Peg Hair, Brighton scooped third.

Bloggs Salon, Bristol, impressively collected a further two awards, claiming the L’Oréal Colour Specialist Award and the Regional L’Oréal Colour Trophy Award in the Western region, making them the biggest winners of the night.

Other noteworthy wins included Tate Hair, Middlesbrough for the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Afro Award and Tribe, London, for the L’Oréal Colour Trophy STAR Award.

The event also hosted an impressive panel of judges, boasting a mix of icons within the industry and seasoned professionals. Judging the finalists for the L’Oréal Colour Trophy award were Sally Brooks from Brooks & Brooks, Marcello Moccia from Room97, Karen Dodds from Cutting Room Creative, Errol Douglas MBE, Angel Montague-Sayers from Sally Montague and Dylan Bradshaw. Judging the prestigious STAR Award was left in the hands of Nathan Walker from Trever Sorbie, Siobhan Jones from Blush & Blow, Jason Miller from Charlie Miller, Ken Picton and Luke Pluckrose from Saks.

Celebrations included two fashion shows to mark the long-standing 20-year relationship between Central Saint Martins and L’Oréal Professionnel Paris. Alongside this, there was also an incredible surrealist show, Cabinet of Curiosities, from Richard Phillipart and The Boutique Atelier in Ellesmere Port. Staying true to its reputation, the Grand Final show was full to the brim with the best of what the hairdressing industry has to offer, with renowned artists taking to the stage to showcase their skill and artistry.
