French Blending: THE ART OF GREY BLENDING

Give clients multidimensional colour and graceful grow out with L'Oréal Professionnel’s French Blending service

French Blending is the new trademarked service developed by L’Oréal Professionnel, focused on elevating classic grey coverage to a premium multi-service for salons and clients. Pairing innovative, unique colour recipes with professional techniques, it perfectly blends greys for a long-lasting, multidimensional look.

What makes it “French”? It has a natural, effortless finish, like the most sophisticated of all colour signatures.

Don't Cover Greys – Blend Them

French Blending is a softer approach to grey coverage. It answers a consumer need that takes a professional to deliver: a dimensional, lower-maintenance colour, delivered in a personalised, sophisticated manner. The service aims to eliminate the harsh regrowth line for a graceful grow-out, delivering multidimensional colour clients will love. Say goodbye to the “grey demarcation” – the future of grey coverage has arrived.

A Natural Finish

Co-developed with hairdressers, French Blending prioritises soft, natural regrowth compared to classic full-coverage colour. It uses personalised colour-match formulas for each client, combined with an innovative method called the Pro Diagnostic Technique.

This approach includes three tailored blending services, depending on the desired result:

• First Blending

• Retouch Blending

• Total Blending

Salon Benefits

French Blending offers three bespoke services designed to suit every client’s needs. By providing these distinct services, salons can deliver a highly personalised, premium colour experience that attracts, retains, and supports clients at every stage of their grey hair journey.

BEHIND THE BLEND WITH NANCY STRIPE

“Women today demand more; they want dimensional colour, natural grow-out and personalisation. French Blending delivers exactly this.”

L’ORÉAL PROFESSIONNEL HAVE DEVELOPED THREE EPISODES TO GO BEHIND THE BLEND WITH NANCY: The Psychology of Greys – “I've been hearing how age is undesirable, how women don't want white hair, how they feel unseen with white hair. The whole reason why I started blending in the first place years ago was because of this language in salons.” The Great Blend-Over – "For too long, 'grey coverage' meant one thing: cover it up, opaque, and a harsh regrowth. Not anymore! Get ready for... The Great Blend-Over: Grey's Reinvention!“ The Blendonomics – "Did you know grey coverage accounts for 60% of salon business? So here we have an opportunity for French Blending.” Watch the full episodes here: uk.lorealpartnershop.com/en/loreal-professionnel/discoverfrench-blending.html

1 First Blending: This service will help recruit new clients that are starting their grey hair journey and want to stay close to their natural colour. The goal is to balance grey sections and have lowlights to add depth, while emphasising the lived-in colour and natural fade for a low commitment, easy-to-maintain look.

2 Retouch Blending: This service is to maintain your loyal clients. These clients are used to a classic grey coverage, and might even sometimes mix with at-home colour. This service will provide them with a more sophisticated, dimensional look and easier root touch-up maintenance. Use a mix of fundamental and reflect shades to soften the grey demarcations and bring a lighter, dimensional colour.

3 Total Blending: This service will help retain loyal clients that are prone to greys and are ready to embrace them through a blended, tailor-made look. Focus on providing a seamless natural blend with highlights, lowlights and gloss for very low maintenance and a graceful grow-out.
