Discover how Noh Hair London and Edinburgh’s ROKU are growing their businesses with Head Spa treatments powered by Takara Belmont

NOH HAIR, LONDON

While salons always consider emerging trends, the growing popularity of Head Spas reflects a fundamental change in what clients are looking for, and how salons like Noh Hair and ROKU are transforming client experiences and reinventing their business model. Noh’s owner Oon Ng explains: “Clients are increasingly seeking wellness-focused services and Head Spa treatments meet the demand for relaxation and self-care.”

Turning a salon visit into an escape

To fashion their offering around Head Spa services, Noh introduced Yume Espoir backwashes and the Yume Head Bath. Oon comments: “This combination allows us to deliver Head Spa experiences in unparalleled comfort, while also benefitting hair and scalp health. Yume Espoir fully reclines turning a client’s visit from a service into a luxury escape.”

With staff trained in Japanese Head Spa techniques, Noh promises a ‘truly unique experience that combines European elegance with Eastern artistry’ and, as Oon explains, their clients agree. “Clients feel the difference and describe our Head Spas as ‘not to be missed’. We’ve established Noh as a sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation.”

ROKU, EDINBURGH

Agrowing UK demand for Head Spas

As evidence that demand for Head Spa services extends across the UK, Edinburgh-based ROKU recently rebranded to focus on their belief that healthy hair begins with a healthy scalp. Owner Robbie Bruce comments: “Our philosophy centres on a holistic approach that recognises the correlation between scalp health and hair vitality. We’ve created a luxury environment where clients can de-stress and indulge in a transformative hair and scalp care experience.”

A focus on Japanese traditions

Believing that scalp care is often overlooked by salons, Robbie shifted ROKU’s emphasis after learning about Japanese Head Spa traditions, which combine natural products with signature massaging techniques.

“In 2024 we created a dedicated Japanese Head Spa space. After visiting Takara Belmont’s London showroom we chose the Yume Noble, Head Bath and Spa Mist II processor, as these delivered what we wanted for clients. Yume Noble’s lie-flat backwash bed allows us to tailor treatments to each client. Spa Mist II focuses on scalp health and Head Bath enhances Head Spa experiences while delivering tangible benefits for hair and scalp.”

Taking advantage of Takara Belmont’s free Yume Head Spa training when purchasing their Head Spa package, ROKU spent two months perfecting consultation and service techniques, resulting in high levels of client satisfaction. “Clients feel relaxed and rejuvenated with a noticeably improved scalp including reduced dryness, itchiness and flakiness, and hair with increased shine, volume and manageability.”

Upgrade with Takara Belmont’s 0% Finance

Choosing Takara Belmont for “exceptional craftsmanship and innovative technology”, Robbie upgraded using their 0%, zero deposit Finance Lease Scheme. “This flexible, affordable scheme allowed us to invest without straining our finances. The application process was straightforward and hassle-free.”

A boost for business by 33%

As Scotland’s first salon to offer Yume Head Spa treatments, Robbie feels ROKU has a competitive edge and unique selling point. “Clients are excited by this service, and they’re prepared to pay a premium. In January our revenue was up 33% on December! It’s helped us both retain and attract clients.”

A shared success and advice for salons

Following their success, Noh has advice for salons looking to expand. “Introducing Head Spa treatments is a game-changer but it requires planning, investment and marketing,” says Oon. “Salons should try before they buy. We’re happy for them to visit us so we can show them how to transform their business.”

Robbie at ROKU agrees: “I highly recommend investing in Takara Belmont equipment. Head Spa services will differentiate your salon, create memorable experiences for clients and boost income! It’s definitely the way to go!”
