LIFE THROUGH A LENS
The British Hairdressing Awards, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional, London Hairdresser of the Year, and 2024 British Hairdresser of the Year nominee shares her favourite work
1 Attack The Block
This look frustrated me the most, but it turned out to be the best in my 2020 British Hairdressing Awards entry. It was also the first time I experimented with colour blocking.
2 Making The Braid
I enjoy looking back at this image because it was painstakingly time-consuming and intricate to get right. It was all the model’s own hair, and I shot it in seconds with Jack Eames.
3 Simple Pleasures
An all-time favourite image of mine. The colour and style are simple, and I love that it represents a true synergy of the session world and creative cutting.
4 Bold in Burberry
I did this on stage with very shaky hands as I wanted to show a precise colour on a blonde shaved head. I enjoyed every moment of creating a colour-blocking pattern inspired by Burberry.
5 Leading The Trends
I did this with a high lift tint and tonersa no-bleach blonde! This was at the first colour blocking event I hosted and it ignited something in me to deliver more talks and make trends relatable to clients.
6 Thin White Duke
I loved working on this David Bowie-inspired style with Elle Magazine shot in Notting Hill.
7 From Paris With Love
A pinch-me moment where I painted hair live on stage in Paris, in a museum! I was so happy with the show and the models. This is a backstage shot, captured by a fashion photographer.
