Through research and product development, Avlon responds to what the market wants. The Natural Hair Movement has had a significant impact on the products Avlon produces. Avlon understands the chemistry, properties and structure of Afro hair, which ingredients will make Afro hair comb easily and add moisture to the hair and the scalp. Lots of these are natural ingredients and lipids, worked into nano emulsions, such as glycerine, beetroot extract.

Dr Syed adds, “We are constantly learning about what people want and don’t want from their haircare, that’s why you won’t find mineral oils, sulfates or silicones in our products. Products containing more organics are in demand and there is little tolerance for ingredients and styling processes that would damage the hair.”

He adds: “We conduct in-depth scientific research on the hair and scalp, and formulate products to test new ingredients with cutting edge technology. Adding moisture to the hair and scalp is one of the foremost endeavours we have achieved in the last decade, along with game changing products that strengthen hair during colour and chemical processes.”
