Changes at Treatwell

Beauty and wellness booking platform Treatwell has appointed growth executive Coline Herné as Chief Marketing Officer.

Coline brings 16 years of leadership to the company and includes time spent working at L’Oréal Professional, working directly with salons and hairdressers. Commenting on the appointment, Coline said: “Joining Treatwell brings my journey full circle. I grew up professionally on the salon floor at L’Oréal - visiting hairdressers, attending technical sessions, and witnessing firsthand the incredible craft, passion, and artistry of beauty professionals. Moving into fast-scaling tech giants like Uber and Satispay taught me how to use data and every channel available to grow a business fast; sometimes tenfold. Beauty professionals are true craftspeople. My goal is to leverage technology and performance marketing to accelerate Treatwell's growth, making us the partner salon owners rely on and the first place people go to book beauty across Europe."

SCOTTISH HAIR AND BEAUTY AWARDS

The Scottish Hair & Beauty Awards (SHABA) celebrated its 15th anniversary this year, bringing together some of the biggest names in hair, beauty and barbering.

SHABA welcomed hundreds of finalists, industry professionals, leading brands and special guests on 20 September 2026 at the Hilton Glasgow - with Hairdresser's Journal as its media partner.

Awards were presented across hair, beauty and barbering categories, recognising outstanding salons, individual professionals, creative artists and businesses from across Scotland. Reflecting on the milestone celebration, SHABA Founder and Director Joanne Reid said: "Celebrating 15 years of SHABA surrounded by so many talented, passionate and inspiring people was truly special. When I started SHABA back in 2011, I wanted to create a platform where Scotland's hair, beauty and barbering professionals could come together, celebrate their achievements and receive the recognition they deserve.”

Edinburgh Salon Celebrates Seven-Year Anniversary

Roku Salon and Head Spa celebrated its seven-year anniversary with an immersive client experience. This event included a reflexology session and ran in conjunction with Authentic Beauty Concept, seamlessly blending their brand philosophies to emphasise the importance of health and wellness.

Clients were invited to attend and see Roku’s newly refurbished salon, which now includes a luxurious treatment space for their Japanese-inspired Head Spa. Following the drinks reception, Sara Davis, Brand Experience & Education Expert at Authentic Beauty Concept, gave an interactive presentation on health and wellbeing. Sara explored the benefits behind certain ingredients, before inviting the audience to enjoy the fragrance of the products; this tied in well with Roku’s brand, since they share the same ethos to focus on using products that are simple, true and good for you.

"This incredible event has delivered fresh ideas, new perspectives, and renewed confidence to lead the next generation of client conversations and salon experiences."

Jeffrey Batista, on his appointment to the WAHL Artistic Team and time on stage at Salon International

“JOINING THE WAHL ARTISTIC TEAM IS A HUGE MILESTONE IN MY CAREER. COMING FROM THE PEDIGREE OF MENSPIRE, A BRAND THAT HAS SHAPED ME AS BOTH AN ARTIST AND EDUCATOR, I’VE ALWAYS BEEN SURROUNDED BY PEOPLE WHO PUSH BOUNDARIES AND CHALLENGE THE INDUSTRY. THAT SAME PASSION FOR INNOVATION, EDUCATION, AND PROGRESSION IS SHARED BY WAHL. GETTING TO REPRESENT BOTH BRANDS ON SUCH A PRESTIGIOUS STAGE IS SOMETHING I’M INCREDIBLY PROUD OF.”

EAST MIDLANDS SALON GROUP DIVERTS EIGHT TONNES OF WASTE FROM LANDFILL

Salon group KH Hair has prevented more than eight tonnes of waste from going to landfill during its five-year partnership with the Green Salon Collective (GSC) – an organisation that helps salons across the UK and Ireland recycle materials that would typically be discarded. For KH Hair, this includes 5.2 tonnes of foils and colour tubes, alongside 2.87 tonnes of hair waste.

Darren Messias, Managing Director of KH Hair, said the group was delighted to celebrate the partnership, adding that recycling and sustainability remained vital to the future of the planet.

Bailey Snowden Expands Snowden Hair with New Scunthorpe Studio

Bailey Snowden, founder of Snowden Hair, has expanded his business with a new studio in Scunthorpe, following growing demand from clients.

With more than 10 years of industry experience, Bailey originally opened his barbershop after identifying a gap in the local market for premium-edge hairstyling. The business first opened 11 months ago, but its expanding team and client base prompted the move to a larger space.
