#SALON26 MASTERCLASSES
SALON INTERNATIONAL’S MASTERCLASSES BROUGHT THE INDUSTRY’S LEADING NAMES TOGETHER FOR LIVE EDUCATION, EXPERT TECHNIQUES AND CREATIVE INSPIRATION. HERE, WE REVISIT THE STANDOUT MOMENTS
JACK MEAD & LYDIA WOLFE
Jack Mead and Lydia Wolfe challenged the traditional hair show format with a Masterclass centred around extraordinary human transformations and the real stories behind them. Working with real people, real hair and real challenges rather than professional models and perfect heads of hair, the team demonstrated the decision-making behind a successful transformation, from consultation and suitability through to colour choice and placement, cutting, styling and finishing. The session also explored how colour and cut work together to create maximum impact for the individual, alongside the power of capturing authentic transformations for social media. With bespoke results created around each individual, the transformations tackled real-world challenges including thin, fine and grey-transitioning hair, delivering commercial results to make each person feel like the best version of themselves.
KEVIN LUCHMUN
Kevin Luchmun brought together his latest British Hairdressing Awards collection with influences from his previous work, showcasing his individual approach to modern men's hair. The Masterclass explored how barbering and men's hairdressing techniques can be combined to create distinctive, contemporary looks, demonstrating the versatility that can be achieved by bringing both disciplines together. Minimalist monochrome, high-end fashion styling complemented the hair, while the presentation moved between different energies to create a dynamic and engaging show. For Kevin, the Masterclass was an opportunity to show audiences who he is and what he can produce through a small production, staying true to his own creative identity.
JOSH LAMONACA
Josh Lamonaca and the Menspire Academy delved into the inspiration behind their winning British Hairdressing Awards collection, ‘DNA’, taking audiences behind the looks to explore the creative thinking and inspiration behind each style. The team also premiered their new 2026 collection, ‘STRAWMAN’. Precision cutting was at the heart of the Masterclass, alongside a more visual approach to hairdressing designed to reveal and enhance the beauty of the individual. Across the two collections, styling moved from Matrix-inspired punk through to high-fashion tailoring. The presentation took audiences on an emotional journey, moving from high energy to softer moments before building towards a dramatic finale.
JAMES EARNSHAW
James Earnshaw delivered a fast-paced creative session exploring some of his most popular viral hair looks, giving audiences a closer look at the techniques behind the finished results. Cutting, toning and styling were brought together with his signature soft, undone texture, with James demonstrating how layering can create movement that works both in the salon and on camera. He also shared his approach to pastel colour, including how he formulates and places tones efficiently, before taking audiences behind the scenes of his content creation process, from shooting and lighting to creating engaging social content.
RUSH
Led by International Artistic Director Andy Heasman, Rush brought their ‘Neo Retro-Past and Future’ collection to the stage, drawing on three decades of creativity and education. The presentation explored the relationship between heritage and modern hairdressing, demonstrating how techniques from the past could be reinterpreted to create contemporary looks. The team showcased the Rush philosophy of Strength and Movement through cutting, colour and styling, while Editorial Director Tina Farey and the Rush Session Team added a strong editorial element. The result was a dynamic showcase combining technical education with distinctive creativity.
MAHOGANY
The Mahogany Creative Team brought their latest Spring/ Summer 2026 Collection to the stage, combining their renowned technical expertise with the influences of art, fashion, beauty and architecture. Led by International Creative Director Colin Greaney, UK Creative Director Antony Licata and Senior Creative Director Neil Atkinson, the team demonstrated the cutting and colouring techniques at the heart of the Mahogany philosophy. The session offered audiences an insight into how highly creative ideas could be translated into wearable, commercial hair, while showcasing the precision and innovation that have become synonymous with the Mahogany name.
