It is fantastic to see a ‘bob-session’ sweeping the nation – our recent Insta poll showed that 94% of you said you’d seen an increase in clients requesting bobs! A return to cuts, and relatively high maintenance ones at that, is undoubtedly good news for business. We love to hero our award winners, and hearing just what their awards mean to them is always so lovely. Our Adventures of a... interviewee this month was Stacey Whyte, British Hairdressing Business Awards Salon of the Year 2 winner (#BHBA24 deadline is Friday 5 April). She shared the journey of her 12-year strong salon business and what it’s taken to get there. One subject that really fascinates me is balancing sustainability with profitability. And increasingly we’re seeing the two go hand-in-hand. Reducing colour waste, becoming vigilant about water usage and encouraging clients to shop local, sustainability isn’t just about what’s on a product label. We chat to hairdressing businesses and brands who are B Corp certified (the B stands for 'benefit for all', fyi) where it’s not just about carbon emissions but about workplace practices too.
