Huge congratulations to Sally Brooks – our 2020 British Hairdresser of the Year. The live comments we received on the night showed how much her 2020/WTF collection resonated with the way the UK hairdressing industry was feeling in 2020. Go to page 64 to see Sally’s stunning British collection in full, which were created on elegant swan-style mannequin heads.

We also have the winners of HJ's British Hairdressing Awards, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional featured in this issue– relive the night and see the comments and winner’s speeches you might have missed from page 41 onwards.

It’s a new year and a fresh start for all of us so we’re kicking off 2021 with a bang. We have four different front covers courtesy of amika and created by amika's UK artistic ambassador James Earnshaw! We’d love you to tell us on our social channels which one of our beautiful covers you received this month (pictured below) and which one is your favourite!

We’re hoping this year will start to bring back some normality into everyone’s lives but in the meantime we’re continually here for you and would love to know what you’d like to see on our website, social channels and in the magazine in 2021. Email laura.h@hji.co.uk or DM @hairdressersjournal to tell us how we can help you in the coming months.

Here’s to a happy and successful year for the hairdressing industry!
