Life Through a Lens

The L’Oréal Professionnel editorial ambassador, London fashion week veteran and salon owner shares his all-time favourite images

“This image from my Girls shoot represents a time when things were simpler. I styled this shoot myself as I do on most shoots. This image is one of my all-time favourites.”

“This is an image from My Dark and Light show for L’Oréal Colour Trophy and I love it! I specifically wanted Teneka to model this look as I knew she would be able to carry it and bring it to life, which of course she did. The clothes were styled by Graham Cruz and the make-up was by Lan Nguyen-Grealis. I was over the moon with the craziness and abandon of this show.”

“This is from my favourite hair shoot. It was produced for L’Oréal Professionnel to celebrate 10 years partnering with Central Saint Martins.”

“This is an image from a sunglasses campaign for Henry Holland. I created the wig for L’Oréal Colour Trophy’s 60th show and it worked perfectly for this shoot. I love to re-evaluate proportions and show how size can be incorporated into shape and balance.”

“This is from a shoot for Esquire magazine that was shot by Rankin and featured Diane Kruger. I love working with Rankin and his team. It’s an experience like no other and I absolutely love the freedom of this image – in fact the whole shoot was really good fun. I was assisted by Marc Trinder.”

“This image is from Henry Holland’s last ever show. The rave wave was created in conjunction with ghd and embodied the mood of the season with less is more."

“This image is from the LIT shoot I did for my first British nomination at HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional. It was important to reflect my aesthetic with styling from Central Saint Martins graduates and untouched images. I feel very proud when I see this image."

“Some of my runway looks are created in a matter of minutes, whilst taking down hair from a previous show. This image is from the first House of Holland show as part of Fashion East. The buzz was incredible. We had two models walking the opening show and we were the last on the catwalk, so we had five minutes to do a full change and we did it! Teamwork made dream work that day.”
