The wonderful Lan Nguyen-Grealis created the rainbow on the model’s face. It represents inclusivity, diversity, and ultimate chic, mixed with a bit of street culture.

This interpretation of the Purdey cut personifies elegance. This collection felt like a personal triumph. I styled the fashion and the hair. It wasn’t black, it wasn’t white, it was just simply beautiful.

This comes from a phase when I was into glamourising punk. The collection was designed to be bold and show that with colour you can do anything. Punk/ Geisha fusion was experimental in its time.

The inspiration for this shot is pure Bardot. It was important to give the hair a modern edge and deconstruct the classic ‘bouffant’. I tonged it, blew it out, then tonged it again to make it malleable.

This was my tribute to sci-fi. I shot this with Rankin, so I had to be on point with timings. Everything was pre-done and rehearsed. His lighting is exquisite, and I was able to produce an incredible set of cuts.

I dipped the hair in theatrical wax as I wanted it to look like twigs that were being blown in the wind. We dyed the hair an inky petrol blue and coupled it with futuristic make-up by Kylie O’Toole.

In the Fifth Element, one of the girls was a robot and had a square, Victory Roll style. I wanted to create something that echoed the sense of structured hair with a strong silhouette.
