We grabbed the winners on the L’Oréal Colour Trophy 2024 shoot to quiz them about their experience of winning and what it felt like to see their looks behind the lens

► Describe what winning felt like in one word?

Emotional.

► How did you find the shoot experience?

Re-creating my winning look has been really fun. It’s been a challenge with all the intricate sectioning patterns. I’m so excited to see my winning look on the cover of Hairdressers Journal International.

► What would you say to someone who is thinking of entering L’Oréal Colour Trophy?

I would say believe in your concept. You have nothing to lose, and absolutely everything to gain. I have actually entered for the past ten years and never given up – so this could be your year.

Unbelievable.

► How did you find the shoot experience?

It's been really chilled – I’ve loved seeing the other winner’s work and can’t wait to see all the images.

► What would you say to someone who is thinking of entering L’Oréal Colour Trophy?

Keep going – I've entered six times, and each time I’ve tried to improve.

Speechless.

► How did you find the shoot experience?

Everyone has been so helpful today sharing knowledge and working as a team. I’m just hoping and praying that my model’s hair holds.

► What would you say to someone who is thinking of entering L’Oréal Colour Trophy?

100% do it. It’s such an experience. Don’t just follow trends, take inspiration from yourself and your own story. Do something that’s personal to you.

It’s been fun and great to see the looks coming together. The models look so good in front of the camera!

Definitely go for it. I’ve tried for the last fifteen years, and finally won! Enjoy the experience, because it’s really fun.
