CHECK OUT WHO SNAPPED UP THE AWARDS IN THIS BRAND-NEW PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION

On Monday 16 October, HJ announced the winners of SNAP! Awards 2023 – a brand new online photographic competition – live at Salon International, at ExCeL London.

Brought to you by Hairdressers Journal International and Salon International, SNAP! was created to give all hairdressers of any skill level, anywhere in the world, the opportunity to showcase their talent through one picture. The rules? The image had to be shot on a phone with a plain background and entries were strictly #nofilter and no editing.

SNAP! 2023 Awards featured five categories – Barbering, Colour, Commercial, Creative and Texture – and was judged on style, cut, colour and image produced. After a staggering number of entries, the top 10 in each category were chosen by a panel of industry experts. Their images were then displayed in a gallery over the course of Salon International, ahead of the live final.

Guests were invited to the Artist Spotlight Stage where Jayne Lewis-Orr, Executive Director of Hairdressers Journal International, welcomed the finalists with a drinks reception, before announcing the winners and congratulating them on their success. Each winner received a bespoke trophy, will have the opportunity to be a Spotlight Artist at Salon International 2024 and has also been given a complimentary ticket to the British Hairdressing Awards 2023, to celebrate at the biggest night in British hairdressing.

Awards as part of our ongoing commitment to nurturing talent across the sector and were blown away with both the quality and number of entries received in all categories. Huge congratulations to all the finalists and winners and I can’t wait to see the entries start coming in for 2024.”
