HJ Reports: Wella TrendVision 2024 UK & Ireland Awards

The winners of the Wella Professionals UK & Ireland TrendVision Award 2024 have been announced at new venue Old Billingsgate, London in front of an audience of over 600 hair professionals

TrendVision 2024 UK & Ireland finalists competed throughout the day at the Wella World Studio, London where HJ had exclusive access, before coming together in the evening for a night of entertainment and celebration to find out who had scooped the coveted prize.

COBELLA

The theme of the Awards night was ‘self expression’, perfectly fitting for the array of creativity that was presented through the finalists work – and the six Guest Artist shows the audience was treated to. As well as watching hosts Laura Whitmore and Fergal Doyle IRL, in a modern twist, the audience were invited to view the event on a livestream through Meta Glasses, which host Fergal and Wella Professionals Global Ambassador James Earnshaw wore backstage.

Wella Company General Manager UK & Ireland, Max Amen, took to the stage to formally open the evening: “Tonight, we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of TrendVision in the UK. We have celebrated more than 200 winners and each time it becomes a life changing event in their career. TrendVision is not just about the finalists and the stylists, it’s also about the businesses that invest in education to train and elevate their teams. You are inspiring people to join this industry, and I want to thank you for all the support and motivation that you bring, and for elevating hairdressing to such a premium level.”

TONI&GUY

Finalists paraded their models to showcase their incredible work, before the much-anticipated announcement was made. Check out the list of winners on the right.

One of the highlights of the event was the boundary-pushing hair shows. Wella’s UK & Ireland Colour Trend Ambassador, Jordanna Cobella presented Renaissance – an interpretation of period hair, fashion and photography, celebrating the palette of the golden hour glow.

HOB

HOB Academy presented Infinity, which brought together bold, innovative styling with futuristic fashion, pushing the boundaries of traditional beauty and showcasing an infinite range of possibilities. We’re talking mesmerising hairstyles that ranged from sleek and polished, to Avant Garde and voluminous, all executed with precision and flair.

STIL

STIL salon wowed the audience with its show called Scandi Style Storytellers, where Scandinavian minimalism meets bold, creative expression through hair and fashion.

James Earnshaw’s creative masterpiece entitled, Alien Allure: A Futuristic Hair Odyssey, took the audience into a world where bold creativity meets innovative fashion. This visually striking event showcased futuristic beauty through an intense colour palette, from acid-wash to vivid purples, highlighting hair as the centrepiece of the Avant Garde looks.

JAMES EARNSHAW

TONI&GUY presented ‘Hair at TONI&GUY’, a show that didn’t disappoint. Inspired by the brand’s iconic journey and previous collections, with looks that pushed the limits of hair on the runway. Bright, colourful and a beautiful fusion of artistry and innovation.

Finally, the master’s at Sassoon wowed the crowd with its Beyond Boundaries show. A fusion of timeless elegance meets bold innovation culminated in an immersive runway event with stunning hair creations inspired by three powerful hues: red, black, and white, drawing on themes from Paris and Berlin’s 1920s style.
