Get Ready for TrendVision Award 2021

Would you like to receive recognition from your peers and the rest of the hairdressing industry by simply bringing your vision, creativity and craftsmanship to life?

What is the entry process in 2021? 

Entering Wella Professionals’ TrendVision Award 2021 will give you the chance to showcase your skills while doing what you love best – hairdressing. The best part is TrendVision Award 2021 is open to all hairdressers. Plus, there is a category to suit everyone, including two new categories open for students. 

Which category is right for you?

There are five categories designed for hairdressers and two new categories specifically for hairdressing students. The five hairdressing categories are open to all hairdressers aged 18 and above and you do not need to be a Wella Professionals salon or hairdresser to take part. You can enter each category once, but you must submit a different look on a different model for each entry. If you get through in multiple categories, you will be put through in the category where you scored the highest. 

You can enter each category on Instagram by tagging @WellaHairUKI and using the relevant UK or Ireland category hashtag... 

This category will allow you to showcase beautiful and salon-relevant hair. The focus must be on the colour results, shade palette and your overall vision. To enter this category use either the UK or Ireland hashtag: #ntva_colourartist_uk #ntva_colourartist_irl

Showcase your balayage/Luxelight Service skills, showing your mastery of a variation of the Luxelights lightening technique, an element of root shadowing and finished with a glossing service.To enter this category use either the UK or Ireland hashtag: #ntva_colourspecialist_uk #ntva_colourspecialist_irl

This category will allow you to showcase a beautiful transformation that expresses the model’s true self by combining the elements of craft cut/colour/styling.To enter this category use either the UK or Ireland hashtag: #ntva_craftartist_uk #ntva_craftartist_irl 

Create a black and white photograph of your model reflecting the Sebastian Professional attitude.To enter this category use this hashtag: #ntva_editoriallook_uki 

Exceptional styling execution with ghd stylers/hairdryers/curlers/hot brushes to produce a modern, wearable look reflective of the ‘ghd girl’: confident, bold and fearless; yet poised, empowered and polished. To enter this category use this hashtag: #ntva_stylemaster_uki

XPOSURE – the Wella Student Hairdressing Competition, which has been running for 20 years, is becoming part of the TrendVision Award 2021 competition. The two new categories are aimed at students who are studying either NVQ Level 2 or 3 in the UK and QQI Level 5 or 6 in Ireland. Entering the XPOSURE categories will give students an invaluable experience, the chance to profile themselves on social media while getting exposure to new ideas and ways of thinking. 

New categories for students  

 This category will allow you to showcase your creative use of colour and its placement to create a visible hair colour. To enter this category use this hashtag: #ntva_xposurecreativecolour_uki

This category will allow you to showcase your colour, cutting and styling skills to demonstrate a strong total hair look. To enter this category use this hashtag: #ntva_xposurecolourthecut_uki

 Stage 1:
 Submit your photographic entry online from 8 March 
to 20 April

 PHOTOGRAPHIC STAGE RESULTS: 
Week Commencing 24th May Virtual Event

Stage 2:
Digital Semi-Finals open 31 May to 6 July

 UK&I FINALISTS ANNOUNCED: 1 August Virtual Event

 LIVE UK&I FINAL: 11 October
A LIVE Event (COVID-19 dependent)

What’s New in 2021?

 TrendVision Award is having a shake-up in 2021 with a number of changes:
 • The Editorial Look and ghd Style Master categories will be fully digital.
 • There will be virtual events featuring Wella Professionals Artists to announce the results of the Photographic Stage and the Semi-Finalist Stage.
 • The prizes this year are not just for the winners themselves – salon owners will also benefit with complimentary business education to the value 
of £1,000/€1,000 for winners and £500/€500 worth of complimentary business education for runners-up.
