After 16 years in hairdressing, 2026 is proving to be a landmark year for Sienna Wetteland. Alongside becoming both a Redken Advocate and a Beauty Works Education Ambassador, she’s continued to grow her profile across social media while also stepping into a new role within the family business as co-owner of Headlines, the Norfolk-based salon founded by her stepdad, Keith.
It’s a milestone year for the salon too; not only is it celebrating 50 years of business, but it’s also relocated into a new premises. Discussing the move, Sienna shares: “The move represents an exciting new chapter for Headlines, allowing us to create a space that reflects our growth and the luxury experience we want to provide for every client.”
Working collaboratively on a renovation project can often come with challenges, but because Sienna and Keith share a similar design vision, the process felt surprisingly seamless. Describing the aesthetic as “Georgian elegance with a touch of glamour”, they created a timeless interior using soft neutral tones, warm textures and gold accents to strike the balance between sophistication and comfort.
The salon’s walls are painted in Farrow & Ball School House White; elsewhere, carefully considered pops of colour add personality without overwhelming the neutral palette. A green shaker-style kitchen introduces depth and contrast, while Sienna’s favourite colour, pink, brings a playful feel to the powder room.
“However, the real talking point is our ‘fifth wall’ – the ceiling above the backwash area,” explains Sienna. “We wanted to transform a space that is often overlooked, so we created a stunning mural for clients to enjoy while having their hair washed. This unique feature adds an element of surprise and creates a more immersive, memorable experience.”
The natural timber flooring subtly defines different zones within the open-plan layout; a Bretagne pattern was installed around the backwash area and inside the powder room, while straight planks laid at a 45-degree angle throughout the main salon help enhance the sense of space and flow. Gold brass strips frame each section, adding another refined detail while visually linking the different areas together.
Much of the salon’s furniture was custom made to suit the design, complemented by styling chairs and basins from Salon Equipment Centre. The salon features 10 styling stations, with eight positioned around a central island and a further two at the rear of the salon, creating a more intimate area that’s ideal for bridal parties.
For Sienna, however, one of the best investments wasn’t inside the salon at all. “The best thing we did was invest in the exterior of the building, so it truly reflects what clients can expect inside,” she says. The illuminated gold Headlines sign is the pièce de résistance of the exterior transformation. “First impressions matter,” Sienna concludes. “Investing in the exterior has made such a difference to how the salon is perceived.”
