HJ Reports: BaBylissPRO Community Hair Show
For the first time ever, BaBylissPRO brought together its leading brand ambassadors from across Europe to headline the Community Hair Show at Paris’ Hair Congress
HJ’s Editor Charlotte Grant-West travelled to Paris for the Hair Congress, which ran from Sunday 5 – Monday 6 October.
Housed at the historic Folies Bergere theatre in the French capital, the event marked the debut of the BaBylissPRO Creative Team - which features Ky Wilson (UK), Syd Hayes (UK), Ilona Kulesza (Poland), Pascal Lombardo (France), Christophe Pujol (France), and Alvaro Sanchez (Spain) – with each artist bringing their own signature style, expertise, and creative energy to the group.
We loved meeting the stylists, some for the first time, and stepping backstage with the Creative Team for an exclusive look behind the scenes. Syd Hayes told HJ: “We’re backstage at this incredible Parisian theatre, and showing what the whole European team has to offer. On stage we will be going through the ages of BaBylissPRO, we are going to show the audience where it started, the evolution of the brand, and end on our latest innovation. We’ve all created something different, but as we’re on a big stage one thing all our looks have in common is that the hair is exaggerated and voluminous, but with a wearable BaByliss editorial twist of course!”
As Syd alluded to, the BaBylissPRO Creative Team presented the brand’s story, through three sections - HERITAGE, EVOLUTION, and INNOVATION live on stage. HERITAGE drew on the fact that Paris was the birthplace of BaBylissPRO. In1961, René Lelièvre and Roger Lemoine revolutionised the pro hairdressing industry with the world’s first electric curling tong. The Creative Team paid tribute to this heritage, with looks inspired by iconic ‘big hair’ icons like Brigitte Bardot and Priscilla Presley.
From those revolutionary beginnings, BaBylissPRO evolved alongside the industry, shaping trends and transforming the way that professionals work. The Creative Team showcased the progression of hair trends, mirroring the brand’s own evolution, from the electric curling tong to a full spectrum of pro styling tools. INNOVATION was the final chapter which brought the audience into the present day. Drawing on current global trends and pushing them forward towards the future, the Creative Team explored shapes, textures, and finishes made possible by the latest professional tools; specifically the newly launched BaBylissPRO Drying Wand, the hero tool of the show.
We joined the team the next morning for exclusive brand reveals and new product developments for 2026. Brand Ambassador Manager EMEA Noemi Martin shared: “I am so proud of our new creative team and the show they put on here in Paris. It was important to have a team with all different skillsets and styles. We have 60 brand ambassadors across the EMEA, so narrowing down to six team members was so hard.”
HJ loved the first look at upcoming innovations and a chance to hear how the brand’s pro ambassadors are shaping the future of hair.
