It was a year of true celebration as it was the 40th year of the awards, and a Ruby-theme set the scene with the touchof-red dress code, pops of red throughout the venue and the December front cover of Hairdressers Journal, which showcased a shoot from the Schwarzkopf Professional team that was resplendent with ruby hues.

Our host, Radio 2 DJ Rylan Clark, entertained guests with his cheeky humour plus, our sponsors Schwarzkopf Professional and Global Ambassador Tyler Johnston, delivered a spellbinding show that set the scene for the rest of the evening.

Hairdressers Journal International’s Executive Director Jayne Lewis-Orr welcomed the audience and gave a memorable speech in tribute to Trevor Sorbie MBE, who passed away in November 2024.

Jayne and Schwarzkopf Professional General Manager Julian Crane proceeded to announced the winners, with the help of Editor Charlotte Grant-West and Deputy Editor Sian Jones.
PIXIE LOTT
Singer Pixie Lott per formed her hits which got the crowd bopping along, and the eight British Hairdresser of the Year nominees wowed the audience with their live shows.
ROBERT EATON
The evening culminated in the announcement of Cos Sakkas as British Hairdresser of the Year for the third year running.
