We caught up with the #LCT26 winners on set to talk winning moments, their L’Oréal Colour Trophy journey, and seeing their looks come to life in front of the camera

▶ What was the inspiration behind your look?
We wanted to go with a smokey blonde – something that felt natural but strong.
▶ If your look had a soundtrack, what would it be?
Kurt Cobain, Smells like Teen Spirit.
▶ What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned from entering the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Awards?
Don’t put yourself in a box and trust in your gut.
▶ Describe your look in three words?
Delicate, smokey, and mysterious.
▶ What have you learnt from the whole experience?
Just have fun and be proud of yourself!

▶ What was the inspiration behind your look?
The Jean Paul Gaultier runways in the 90s. I wanted to blend the lines between hair, outfit and make-up.
▶ What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned from entering the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Awards?
Be yourself. Don’t try and impress other people, just do what feels right for you.
▶ What does winning #LCT26 mean to you?
It’s a dream. It means so much to me and it opens up so many opportunities.
▶ How have you found the #LCT shoot day?
We’ve had a lot of fun! Hot, but it’s been so amazing and everyone here has been lovely – it’s been so nice to meet new people.

▶ What was the inspiration behind your look?
Marie Antoinette modernised – that old money trend, but making it modern.
▶ If your look had a soundtrack, what would it be?
Something like ‘Dirty Cash’!
▶ What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned from entering the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Awards?
It just opens up a world of opportunities for you careerwise. I can’t believe how many doors have opened for me since entering and winning, it’s crazy.
▶ How have you found the #LCT shoot day?
It’s been a lot of fun, a lot of work, but it’s an amazing experience.

▶ What was the inspiration behind your look?
From dusk til dawn is what we named it. All about dusky tones, pastels, and a beautiful balance between warm and cool tones.
▶ If your look had a soundtrack, what would it be?
It would be something edgy, maybe a WEEKND song.
▶ What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned from entering the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Awards?
It actually gives you confidence to do more, put yourself out there more. It’s also never too late!
▶ Describe your look in three words?
Grungy, pretty, and unique.
▶ How have you found the #LCT shoot day?
Amazing, we’ve had so much fun, and we’re all buzzing off each other. Getting to see what you’ve created come to life behind the camera is incredible.

▶ What was the inspiration behind your look?
I was inspired by a Chloé runway show with lots of suede materials, and I wanted to bring that to my model’s hair.
▶ If your look had a soundtrack, what would it be?
Babooshka by Kate Bush.
▶ What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned from entering the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Awards?
Be prepared, and truly mean the story behind your look.
▶ Describe your look in three words?
Dusky, suede hair.
▶ How have you found the #LCT shoot day?
So epic! I have had so much fun – it’s been more chilled than I thought it was going to be, it’s been amazing.

DANIELLE LOUIS, HEADMASTERS DULWICH, LONDON
▶ What was the inspiration behind your look?
I wanted to celebrate Afro hair and I celebrated that in its raw, most natural form.
▶ If your look had a soundtrack, what would it be?
There’s a Soca song called I am a winner – so I feel like it would be that!
▶ Describe your look in three words?
Cultural, modern, and pushing boundaries.
▶ What does winning #LCT26 mean to you?
It means everything and more. I haven’t come down yet, I’m still there living the dream!
▶ What have you learnt from the whole experience?
Trust the process, believe in yourself and have confidence, and do everything with purpose.
▶ How have you found the #LCT shoot day?
It’s such an experience – I’m loving it. I’m loving being with like-minded people, seeing how they do things, it’s a vibe.
